A small hut with an infotable stands just beside the graveyard. There is also a more informative one set up by the National Board of Antiquities. The sign here reads: "Ristinpelto is a former burial site, where 154 graves influenced by Christianity have been found. Folkstories tell that also a chapel has stood there. The name of Ristinpelto derives itself from folk legends, according to which a cross always has to be there. If a cross should not stand there, huge hordes of bald men will rise up from the field in the nighttime to mar people."
