The roadsides of Vanha Ravattulantie (Old Ravattula Road) contain several iron-age monuments, such as barrows. Two of them are documented here. Shape-wise they are oblong (a couple of meters long) and low, only a few tens of centimeters aboveground. Occasionally there are distinct shapes in the placing of the stones, such as rows. The site belongs to a large area full of prehistoric relics such as iron/Viking-age residential places, burial mounds, and hill forts by the Aurajoki river, extending from Turku to Kaarina and Lieto. |
